About Shar

How I Got Started:

When I was a junior in high school, I had shooting pain in my low back so often I missed 2 weeks of school that year. My mom took me to Dupont Children's Hospital where I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I am forever grateful to that doctor for giving me a set of back strengthening exercises instead of pharmaceuticals! This was my entry point into yoga. I was an active youth, an avid cyclist and tennis player. Yoga was the key to bringing it all together for me. Within one week of practising the strengthening exercises every night before bed (and buying a firmer mattress), the painful spasms disappeared and I never had back pain again... as long as I kept doing those exercises.

My Approach:

I am an Ayurveda Health Counselor, Yoga Therapist, Herbalist, Vedic Thai Yoga Bodyworker, and Intuitive Healer. I work with at risk teen girls in a group home and with people of all ages in my private practice.

As an adult, I have studied with amazing teachers in Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedic Thai Bodywork- Assisted Yoga, and Herbalism but my adopted grandma, Doe (Blackfoot Native & English) was my first real teacher. She instilled within me a profound respect for psychic intuition, loving healing touch, and world family.

I was the owner of Wilmington Ayurveda in Wilmington, NC for 5 years.
